RE: RE: RE: RE: Silence...Rational2, very interesting comments.
I'd say that clearly there is a deal afoot - otherwise the market (the 'leaky' canadian market especially) would have this priced around a dollar or less. And quickly.
What type of deal is anyones guess. I wasn't a seller at this level previously, as I do believe in the company's value. I did sell approx 50% of my shares in the 1.50s. At this point, I am considering that I should have sold them all in that region; The potential extra 10 or 20 cents above that has not been worth the uncertainty - especially in terms of other market opportunities recently.
Ironically, if I sell at current levels my average sale price will be about the same as maxam's final offer.
I'm not angry or on an 'anti driscol' vendetta. I know the risks of investing in these types of companies. And I think the management of the company has been competent and capable in executing their vision. There was a little thing called the global financial meltdown that really threw the whole project - and markets - way off track. The good news is that I was an active buyer sub $1.
That being said, there is a smell emanating from the company right now - The (lack of) action and coercive press releases (and aggressive recommendation not to tender) are looking VERY self serving to the company's senior management and directors right now. What was an opportunity seems to be turning bad. Its almost time to sell into the market and forgo any diminishing possibility of an extra 40 cents.....
