RE: clarificationBob
Sorry if I had some facts incorrect.
I have been following Eli for the last 3 years.
I have seen the stock plunge since their contract with GE in London was terminated without explanations.
On 04 March 2000, I email Eli's Investor Relations the following question: In May 1998, you announced an agreement with Tokyo Boeki and Nippon Sharyo for performance testing of one of your unit in view of obtaining regulatory approval to construct a full-scale unit to operate in Japan under license. I would like to know if this deal is still alive.
On the same day I received a reply From BHow4322@aol.com which read as follows: The deal is still very much alive. We have received 2 of 3 operating permits for Japan and are just waiting for the last permit. That should be issued by mid-year. No other non-inceneration has gotten to this level of approval in Japan.
The deal with Asahi Pretec was announced later on during the month of March.
From the answer received I concluded that to operate in Japan ELI needed three different permits and that two had already been obtained and the last one was expected to be received before the end of June 2000.
I did not elaborate on the different type of uses of ELI's technology that each Jap. agreement specifies, but I believe it only add value to the propestive deals.
