Bottom line is that if they're willing to part with the Canadian assets to fund developments in ND and internationally, they have some reasonable certainty as to what they're sitting on in the Bakken.
They need to follow the footsteps from the big operators as in this type of reservoirs, it doesn't really matter how you drill the wells as the rock quality is very low to begin with. What matters most is how much rock you contact (ie. length of horizontal reach in the well) and how much reservoir you stimulate (ie. SRV or stimulated reservoir volume contacted with the fracture stimulation). Pump insufficient fluids, you dont make a well... Pump the wrong kind of fluid, you dont make a well... Pump insufficient proppant volumes at insufficient rates and concentrations... you dont make a well... So they need to do their homework and go to town on the frac job for the next well they drill.
Can only go up from here in my opinion. GLTA
