However, I have no illusions that the U.S. would stop drilling for oil... but there may be more opposition to opening more coastal waters for drilling after this... especially in ecologically sensitive areas like Alaska's waters...
IMHO, the Valdez oil spill was not close enough to home for people to get a clear picture of; this spill is right on the doorstep for many Americans...
Expect $140.00/ barrel oil sometime this summer, because the consumer is going to have to pick up the tab for this one, we all know BP is unlikely to suck up the cost.
