Alternate Symbol(s):  CAMNF

Cascadia is a Canadian junior mining company focused on exploring for copper and gold in the Yukon and British Columbia . Cascadia's flagship Catch Property in the Yukon hosts a brand-new copper-gold porphyry discovery where inaugural drill results returned broad intervals of mineralization, including 116.60 m of 0.31% copper with 0.30 g/t gold. Catch exhibits extensive high-grade copper and gold mineralization across a 5 km long trend, with rock samples returning peak values of 3.88% copper and 30.00 g/t gold.

Rau Property

Rau Property

I was going over ATAC’s news releases, for I was certain astartup date was mentioned. In the March 8th news release, Graham Downsstated that “Crews will be mobilized to the property in April."These guys are no amateurs to the Yukon environment and are utilizingever option in favor of getting those 4 or 5 drills turning asap and youcan bet they are just as excited as us to get underway so I wouldn’t besurprised to see the next news release announce that they are drillingat the very least. I still find it hard to wait though, since I’ve beenholding and accumulating over 8 months now with the firm believe thatRau could make it holders very rich. Sure there’s that possibility ofthat fly in the ointment thing but the more I read on the Carlin trend, the more I like Rau’s comparison to it.

Igneous Geology of the Carlin Trend, Nevada:Development of the Eocene Plutonic Complex and Significance forCarlin-Type Gold Deposits

Michael W. Ressel1,*and Christopher D. Henry2,

"The Carlin trend contains the largestconcentration of Carlin-type gold deposits in the world. Two majorcontroversies about these giant gold deposits have been their age, whichis now firmly established as Eocene, and the source of heat, fluids, and metals, which remains debated. We present data that demonstrate anintense period of Eocene magmatism coincided in time and space withdeposit formation and was arguably the primary heat source. Geologicstudies over the last 40 years have emphasized the stratigraphy andstructure of Paleozoic sedimentary rocks, which are the major ore hosts. However, four igneous episodes affected the Carlin trend, in theJurassic, Cretaceous, Eocene, and Miocene. A Jurassicdiorite-granodiorite laccolith and related dikes were emplaced at about158 Ma in the northern Carlin trend. Cretaceousgranite intruded the north-central part of the trend at 112 Ma.Abundant Eocene dikes intruded along most of the trend and wereaccompanied by lavas in a large volcanic field along the southwest edgeof the trend between ~40 and 36 Ma. Miocene rhyolite lavas erupted justwest of and across the southern part of the trend at ~15 Ma."

"Exposed Eocene rocksconsist predominantly of silicic to intermediate dikes, lavas, andepizonal intrusions, which we interpret to besourced from a large Eocene plutonic complex underlying the Carlin trend.Eocene dikes are present in most deposits, are generally altered, but, with a few exceptions, were poor ore hosts. Distinct Eocene igneoussuites, which are restricted to specific areas of the trend, are fromnorth to south: (1) 40.3 to 39.0 Ma rhyolite to dacite dikes in thenorthern Carlin trend, centered approximately on the Betze-Post depositand the richest part of the trend;”

Of course theseare elementary comparisons, nonetheless one can keep digging and come upwith interesting facts and data, for there is a lot of info to loseoneself in.

AfterRereading the March 8th news release I becameincreasingly interested in the announced Sten target and to itswhereabouts. It seems the Sten target provided ATAC with enough proof toincrease the length of their Rau property to approx 100km east fromTiger – wow!To fully appreciate the magnitude ofthis property and its potential, I used a map (below) of their propertyto get an idea of the approximate location of the Tiger zone and theSten target. Also the links below the newsrelease provide a lot more detail of Rau.

ATAC Resources Ltd. Dramatically IncreasesIts Land Position At Its Rau Gold Project In Yukon

“With thisextension, the highly prospective Sten Target, 96 km to the east of theTiger Zone, is linked to the main land holding. The Sten Target wasdiscovered in 2009 by following up strongly anomalousreconnaissance-scale arsenic stream sediment geochemical results.Subsequent sampling and mapping have defined a 2 km long belt containinghigh gold-in-silt values ranging from 0.1 to 2 g/t within astratigraphic and structural setting similar to the Tiger Zone. Thenewly staked band of favourable carbonate stratigraphy between the TigerZone and the Sten Target will be explored in 2010.

It wont be much longer before wecontinue off from last years great drilling results. Hit one or twotargets and last year % gains will easily be matched.
