RE: most annoying stock i've ever heldThe stock got so annoying for me that I sold it the other day. It was like having money buried in the back yard; I felt it was reasonably safe, but that it was inert and unproductive. I have no doubt that ETG will eventually get taken out at a nice premium to the market, but the premium becomes less valuable the longer you have to wait for it. There is opportunity cost involved in tying up money while Friedland plots his strategy. I don't believe ETG will act independently of Friedland, so it will continue to be a waiting game.
I decided to unload the stock and check back in a few weeks. I may try to trade in and out of it, hoping to catch a pop. If I miss out, so be it. I don't want to buy and hold it. I could easily imagine it trading right about where it is throughout 2010.
