As to why people buy when the knife falls? Well, everyone thinks they are getting a bargain. Numerous other examples of falling stocks, whether they be Enron, Bre-X,etc. always show a buyer and a seller. That's just how the market works.
There is a slim possibility that this company will survive, considering the cash balance, but high risk.
