The length of time it takes to approve a permitdepends on the type and complexity of the application submitted.  A permit for a new mine will take severalmonths to well over a year to be issued. Our application requirements and review process are very detailed andalways requires corrections to be made by the applicant.  However an application for a company to takeover an existing permit can be issued in less than a month if all requiredinformation is submitted correctly.

Looking at our database we have one pending application in the name of NorthAmerican Gem US Inc.  It is a transferapplication proposing to take over an existing permit in Knox county. Thispermit was originally submitted to us
May 20, 2010 but was refused to be accepted due to it beingincomplete. It is common for companies to operate under more than one companyname and I don't know if this is even the permit you are interested in. If youcan get me the application number or the actual company name they have appliedfor the permit in, I will be glad to give you its status.
