To the Bashers and People Invected with NegativityHello all,
Over the years I have watched stock message boards on both sides of the border become less and less of a means to communicate and collaborate with fellow investors in a particular stock and watched them become more and more of a place for people who are not even positioned or interested in the stock but for whatever reason are compelled to vent, bash, and spew negativity. Perhaps they are bored? Perhaps it makes them feel better about themselves? Perhaps they think they are 'Stock Market Robin Hoods?', I don't know but to each their own I guess. I have pasted below a little something from a website that I forward to several of my students, friends and acquaintances who need a little guidance and redirection in life. Take it for what its worth.

Beware of that insidious disease knownas ‘negativitis’ (negative thinking). It is as pervasive as the commoncold, but far more damaging. It mutilates, cripples, and corrodes thehuman spirit.
Those infected by it are broken men and women aimlesslyplodding along. The dark clouds brooding over them obscure their visionand cause them to become confrontational, apathetic, and cynical. Theirlives are like flat champagne, without any sizzle. So, how do weinoculate ourselves against such a harmful disease? It was only afterlearning about the horrible effects of smoking that people began to giveit up. It may be wise to do the same here. So, let’s review the effectsof negativitis.
1. Complaining is worse than doing nothing, forit is digging the rut one is in deeper and deeper.
Each time onecomplains, it becomes increasingly difficult to climb out of the ditchthey’ve created. To loosen the grip of this vicious habit, we need tobecome aware of our complaining, stop it in its tracks, and immediatelylook for something positive to say. It’s just a matter of replacing abad habit with a good one.
2.
A negative attitude isself-defeating. We won’t find solutions to life’s problems by lookingfor someone or something to blame. Those who say, "Positive thinkingdoesn't work for me," have got it backwards. It’s not positive thinkingthat has to work; YOU have to work. For example, you have to work atappreciating what you have instead of moaning about what you lack.
3.Failure to do what you want to do (be happy) causes physical and mentalstress.
A rotten attitude, not only delays success, but also shortenslife by damaging the immune system (to learn more on how your thoughtsaffect your immune system, investigate psychoneuroimmunology). So,besides the diseases directly caused by stress, such as heart diseaseand ulcers, we become susceptible to all manner of other diseasesbecause of a weakened immune system.
