RE: Can anybody tell me....Yes, on May 27th in the MD&A
Leadbetter
During Q1 of 2010, in conjunction with and compatible with the 43-101 report the following activities were
undertaken:
1. HQ core drilling in the vicinity of the proposed Northern Decline commenced and is the
continuation of previous HQ drilling programmes. Drill spacing will be at 50 metre and 25 metre
spacing. Initial drilling is not expected to exceed 2,000 metres. Core logging of previous HQ
drilling was completed during the quarter.
2. Collection of environmental data continued as per the approved advanced
exploration/rehabilitation/closure plans.
3. Progress was made in taking the current crown claims to lease with special priority assigned to
crown claim SSM 1243332.
4. Updated Advanced Exploration Closure Plans were submitted to the MNDM in January 2010.
5. Material testing on drill cores to obtain compressive strength, elasticity and other strength data
was completed in April. This data is required for the design of plant grinding and crushing.
6. Independent consultants were active in preparing documentation for various water/sewage
permits. Application and study for Permit to take water was submitted in April.
Ekomiak and PEM
Mapping, drilling and surface sampling of the conglomerates were the main exploration work carried out
on these properties in the previous quarter. Preliminary prospecting in 2008 indicated that the
conglomerates may only be a surface thin layer (<10 meters) unconformable overlying Archean fine
grained sediments and therefore have limited volume potential.
A drilling programme to test this theory was undertaken in the latter part of 2009 and it clearly
demonstrated that the conglomerate are dipping at 70 degrees to the north and that the theory was not
valid. Conglomerate horizons reach thicknesses in excess of 50 metres on Ekomiak V while on the
adjacent PEM property exploration indicates that substantially thicker conglomerate occurs here.
Gold results for the conglomerate samples indicated presence of gold throughout the rock matrix
Gold results for the conglomerate samples indicated presence of gold throughout the rock matrix
throughout the properties. Of the 43 conglomerate samples from Ekomiak V, 12 contained detectable
gold (> 5ppb) while on the PEM, 99 of the 135 samples contained detectable gold. The highest gold value
recorded was 99 ppb (parts per billion). Overall 62% of the samples contained detectable gold.
The 2010 programme will be more focused on targeting those areas of the conglomerates that have the
best potential for diamonds and determining the potential for other minerals like rubies and gold to be
present.
