Simple fix to the oil leak.

Simple fix to the oil leak. Why don't they just build a huge diameter pipe to enclose the entire area. Sheet sheet could be dropped down from ships, handled by ROV's and welded together. Sheet steel is readily available and underwater welding isn't a big deal. This is only a mile deep it wouldn't take alot of time to build close to the surface. A detachable cap could be made close to the surface with pipes to carry the oil to tankers. Gas could be collected or burnt off. The cap could be removed during hurricane season and sunk if need be then easily pumped full of air to float it back to the surface and put back on top. If the oil can't be carried away quick enough the cap would just burp to equalize the pressure and let out whatever couldn't be collected.
From what I am reading the seafloor is now starting to spue oil. Capping the broken pipe isn't an option any more.
A steel tube 20 feet in diameter a mile long isn't a big deal if they start now.
This is probably too simple for those in charge.
Hurricane season is here, ya'll better do something quick else ya gonna have oil in your trees as well as your beaches. It will be like agent orange blowing in on hurricane winds.
