Quiet weekend

Quiet weekend
Quiet weekend on the board - everybody resting up for the big announcement.  At this point I would say that with all the quality posting on this board, the facts and best-guesses are about as thorough and up-to-date as they are going to get.  I took advantage of Friday's noontime and near-close dips to stock up on a few thousand more shares because I figure we won't see 1.32-1.33 again for quite some time (ever?).  Had to sell some other stuff to do it, but it seemed the right thing to do given where this is heading.

World indices are showing really mixed activity right now.  Friday was a big bullish engulfing candle, although I personally don't tend to give much credence to candle influence when you have a weekend to throw it all off.  Technicals are mostly positive, with 50-day moving average crossover and a Williams % move to the upside.  Pattern-wise, it is not a classic pattern off the high of May but you could interpret a flag.  More visible is a small ascending triangle starting as of June 16.  Momentum certainly is mirroring anticipation.

At this point though, candles, technicals, patterns and world macros are all irrelevant.  This is being driven by the momentum of the 43-101 announcement.  One of the PIGS could let off with a big "we're broke" announcement and VTR probably would not skip a beat until after the announcement.

If the announcement pops before any real uptick can happen, it should gap open on the restart and then it depends on sentiment as to what happens afterwards.  If it has a chance to move higher first before the announcement, hard to tell what will happen then.  Seems like you really have to blow the doors off expectations these days to get upside after it has had a run on people buying the rumour.

I went back and looked at other maiden 43-101 announcements and in a lot of them ALLEN4's prediction of 20% in the weeks/months following appears often enough.  Regardless of what the numbers, VTR's ability to execute and their official confirmation is what should cause a re-valuation to happen.

Tick tock...
