RE: Why is he insider?

RE: Why is he insider? The Russian billionaire is considered an insider of CS because the holding company he controls own a large number of CS shares (exact number I don't know, but enough to make that company qualifies as an insider by the rules anyway).  In fact he is listed as an "indirect insider".   To us that's just sematic.  You own it directly, or through one of the companies you control makes no difference to us.

Yes, he's been buying a lot of CS shares for sometime and in fact got a few people on this board excited about a possible CS takeover - the ultimate dream of all small retail investors.  I guess most of us think that's the "Holy Grail" - we're all gonna get rich overnight.  However, the accumulation has gone on for sometime and a lot of us have lost interest.  Nothing has happen yet and - being the forgetful creatures that us investors are - most of us have move on to something else already.

So if a takeover happens it happens.  The irony is, most of the shares this guy accumulated were bought way over the current price level and he is underwater just like most of us small retails!  There is justice after all.
