The old Cap story conclusion issue

The old Cap story conclusion issueWill finish this story today, since it's a hot slow day here. Old Cap was one of those old prospectors that would find a exposed vein and high grade it. Before he passed away he told me where one was and that I should stake it. Getting there was no easy task when i tell this story I can't believe I even tried it with that old Yamaha.
I got a lady friend involved that new old Cap and said she would put the $ up for the copter as long as she could come along. I waited for another month for the snow to melt some more.
It was exciting when the day finally came to fly in and stake the site right in the saddle of the highest point of the mountain.
Man flying seemed like magic compared to what I went through a month before. We had the stakes already to go to be as fast as possible didn't want that old heli meter to climb to fast. When we flew over the site you could tell right away that it was the old high grade site, since they are in a hurry they always leave some kind of garbage behind.
The galena was shinning like a silver cup on the mountain top in the sun, it was a pretty site indeed. We grabbed a couple of samples put our stakes in and flew back to our truck which was parked at the begging of the road I rode in on the Yamaha.
We never wasted any time and went to Smithers to register the claim. We had checked first and knew that that area was open. We kept that claim for a few years by just paying the claim fee which was around $200.00 per year. We let it go by not paying one year and guess what a cat operator was improving that road where I met the wolverine and he seen mineralization when he put his dozer into some bed rock. Smart cat operator went and staked the whole area, this area is the Huckelberry Mine today.
Ive always felt bad that I never kept that claim up, not only for myself but for the old Cap who wanted someone he knew to cash in on it. Oh well just another one of those coulda shoulda moments. GLA Pemsters.
