Key Point to my way of thinking.
Key Point to my way of thinking. Are the following:
"He suggests it is reasonably well into its drilling program in Kurdistan and reasonably priced. But it is going to take time he suggests, to find out exactly what it is they’ve got, with so many zones to test, big pressures to be dealing with and so forth."
Yup - he is saying that the market has them reasonably priced - and not vastly (sorry) over priced at current trading levels.
"He doubts that it is a dry hole with so many zones to test, but the question remains he says, how big could the prize be?"
Yup - pretty well sums up what just about every sane poster here has been saying - neither pumping or bashing. The drill bit will tell the ultimate tale here - but with excellent regional anologies and several potentially well developed and trapped reservoir units to evaluate in this well bore - the chances of this being a dud are pretty slim. (They are never nil and yes some zones could be gassy?!)
But of course this is simply another voice from the "Boiler Room" gang and isn't worth the paper its not printed on...
For the record with Oilexco - I was (along with many others) a happy enthusiast when things were going well. There were some pumpers over there and those I did caution and question as some posts were outrageous on the potential upside. There were a few very cautious voices raised too several times when things looked a little "suspicious" and some of those were my friends too. (I wish ruefully I had listened to them more closely LOL!). But there was only one person on that BB who posted consistently and persistently the exact same message for nearly 4 years straight - and who never ever showed any sign of positive acceptance when some excellent results actually got posted...
Here at Vast I am much more cautiously hopeful - cautious because I've been badly burned, cautious because there are things that come out of left field from time to time, and cautious enough to recommend not putting all your Kurdistan eggs in any one basket. Between Vast, Longford, Western Zagros, Gulf Keystone and Sterling there is enough to speread some risks as each play has some unique things going for them that the others lack and are at differing stages of development. How any one investor wants to play this is entirely up to them - but here at least we are well ahead in the drilling game and so far no drilling problems of note. That is good if there is a decent volume of oil present in these first Cretaceous reservoirs no one here has long to wait for results and a decent SP boost. What happens later and deeper - well thats yet another story and some will take profits and trade the Market swings - some will just hang on for the end result.
