RE: RE: RE: RE: Malartic Squattter Article Link@TheGoldenChild - Lots of property for sale in NS and around Goldboro especially if you want a fixer-upper.  If you want coast line you'd better be prepared to pay and carry lots of Euros.

Buddy may be brilliant to hold out but OSK is dumb to have let it get to this far. I wonder if they could have moved to expropriate earlier.  Thankfully, looking at the OX claims map it doesn't look like they have many claims where there are whole towns, and the NS expropriation and Mining acts don't allow you to hold someone hostage, generally - fair market value before what was discovered under your house plus 25%.

My point is that it isn't helpful right now in this province to have negative articles about mining companies in the Herald, especially with an NDP government in charge who isn't exactly mining friendly, unless its a highly unionized heavy industry mine that has no environmental impact and can be run by government workers. ;)

I agree with Beefeater, the Herald is controlled by the Government of the day's communications people.  Having graced the front pages of it twice, I can tell you its not a big challenge to "sell" them a story and they are so hungry for news they "buy."  The people of the province are generally sheep.  OSK & OX need to get in front of the story, and not let the special interest groups define the landscape against them before they show up and establish a local presence and have to swim upstream.
