Competing technology

Competing technology

In his newsletter to shareholders, John McNicol wrote:

I am happy to report that we also have begun collaborating on the first joint project with our co-marketing partners in Germany, Hans Binder Maschinenbauusing their tray-based vacuum microwave food dehydration technology, MIVAP, to develop a test product for a North American fruit snack producer. We expect that this project will lead to a closer relationship as we make progress, and I am excited about the prospects.

This statement implies that HansBinder Maschinenbau already has a vacuum microwave dehydration system. They say on their website “Whether in continuous or batch operation, atmospheric or vacuum: Binder supplies the right microwave dryer for your application.”

How does Hans Binder’s technology differ from Enwave’s?  Also, are there competing patents that predate Enwave’s?

4u was concerned about such a risk when he/she stated:

One risk you didn't mention is another company coming out with something superior to EnWave's technology....don't know what those odds are, but hopefully low.

Does anyone have any insight on this possibility?
