Panasonic Corp will launch the world's first television capable of recording and playing 3-D images next month and also make 3D a standard feature across its large flat-panel TVs, the Nikkei business daily reported. Panasonic expects Japanese demand for 1 million 3-D TV sets this fiscal and is hoping to have a 50 percent market share by new launches, the daily said, quoting its Executive Officer Shiro Nishiguchi. The 42-inch all-in-one model will retail for around 390,000 yen, while the 46-incher will sell for roughly 440,000 yen, approximately 90,000 yen more than Panasonic's non-recording 3-D variants of similar dimensions, Nikkei said. The 3D Viera RT2B series will come with a 500 gigabytes hard-drive space, the paper reported. Panasonic which was the first to launch 3-D TVs in Japan this April and currently offers four large sizes ranging from 50-65 inches, the daily said.
