good points bamako.. anonymous is more on par with the us markets.. all trades are anonymous..so you'd have to do more sleuth work with the volume etc., but makes it more of a level field for the brokerage houses too. as their advantage of using house1 is nullified. i hear that eventually canada will go that same route. What i do not agree with is, the alternative trading systems now. they've popped up like a scourge in the last few years..they say they aid more foreign investment in canada, as it's are no longer a single stock  exchange country, offering enhanced liquidity.. but all they do is add to the ease deception at this point in my opinion. ie- just when you think you can grab those last shares @ whatever price.. bam! you get filled, but those shares still show on L2! you'll never know how to properly gauge the market coming up here, as these little buggers keep taking more and more market share. i think they should integrate tsx quotes and all the others into one unified market book, otherwise things could get out of hand..
