RE: Analysing the Core

RE: Analysing the Core
A good geologist will know from looking through the existing drill logs and core library what to expect by way of alteration, structure and mineralogy where the desired minerals/elements were found in previous drill holes.

Should the drill penetrate rocks of differing lithology from previous holes, the alteration patterns of the same types of mineralizing events will also be visible though the strength and specific alteration products may vary.

In other words, either the rig or project geologist will be able to offer up well educated guesses on the presence or absence of the desired target.
Based upon that opinion alone, I have seen the 'word' go out and subsequently, the price of a client's stock reflects the news, good or bad as the insiders react.
