DARNLEY BAY RESOURCES ANNOUNCES PROGRESS ON DRILL PROGRAM

Toronto,ON – August 4, 2010 – Darnley Bay ResourcesLimited (“DarnleyBay”) (TSX Venture:DBL) is pleased to announce that its exploration and drill program hascommenced on a number of fronts. On July 30, a 20-person exploration camp wasmobilized from Yellowknifeto Paulatuk on a First Air Hercules aircraft, together with some drillequipment. The winterized camp was then transported to the site 41 km southeastof Paulatuk on several Twin Otter flights and is now being constructed by a5-person crew. It will be ready for occupation in a week. Today, a secondHercules flight is scheduled to transport the Boyles BBS-37A diamond drill toPaulatuk. The crew and drill, with 1,000 m depth capacity, are contractedthrough Northtech Drilling Ltd. of Yellowknife.

Thedrill will immediately be deployed to the Parry Peninsulato drill kimberlite pipe targets under the joint venture with Diadem ResourcesLtd. (news release of July 9, 2010). These costs will be borne by Diadem. Inthe meantime, geological and geophysical crews from Aurora Geosciences willprospect and survey Darnley Bay’s highest priority metals targets (newsrelease of July 13, 2010), prior to moving the drill to those targets later inAugust. Approximately 8,000 m of drilling is budgeted for the summer/fall andwinter base metals drill programs. All of the field work and drilling aremanaged by Lou Covello, P.Geo.

Additionalmaterial derived from the spring airborne geophysical program, including 3Dgravity modelling, are posted on DarnleyBay’s website(www.darnleybay.com). The results ofthe field work, drilling and assaying will be released at appropriateintervals.

Darnley Bay Resources Limited was formed in 1993 toexplore for and develop base metal deposits related to the 50 km x 80 km, 132mGal Darnley Baygravity anomaly near Paulatuk,Northwest Territories, Canada. It has discovered six diamondiferouskimberlite pipes in the same region. DarnleyBay is currentlyexploring and drilling for base metals on its 4,600 km2 landholding.
