That Was The Week That Was ... In Canada

And it was a nailbiting week for shareholders of Atac Resources. First off, the company posted mixed results from its Rau East zone in the Yukon. Highlights included 23.24 metres running2.54 grams gold per tonne. Then later in the week, Atac tallied some mind-numbing numbers from the Rau oxide zone. These included 38.80metres running 17.11 grams gold per tonne and 58.92 metres of 8.70grams gold per tonne. Even so, Atac ended the week down C.04 at C$1.94.

Second quarter earnings have come in better than expected for most mineral-related companies, and the junior bourse looks ready to break out to the upside. The market strength is somewhat surprising given the continued weak job numbers coming out of the United States. We will see what next week has in store.
