Interesting piece in Salman Partners (Toronto) morning note on zinc:

As we deduced above, until next year, our projection of zinc supply and demand in the Western world shows zinc in surplus. By 2012, however, we believe that growth in demand in the Western world, the continuation of growth in demand in China, and China’s apparent “cap” on production should cause a decline in China’s net imports that would be sufficient to offset the excess of production over demand in the Western world, thereby resulting in declining inventories in the West… and higher zinc prices.

These guys are quite bullish on zinc in the mid and long term.  They also mention Canada Zinc Metals as one of the more interesting plays in the development of zinc resources.
