RE: Fried green tomatoes
Some points to consider, that may not be relevant to you or other investors:-
1. It is often difficult to accumulate sufficient stock in small companies like Metanor, to make it worthwhile to make a two or three week trade worthwhile.
2. It most countries there is a favourable tax treatment for capital gains, in comparison to income. If an investor is diving in and out of stocks on a regular basis, then a higher income rate on gains may be difficult to challenge. In the UK, until the last tax year, the CGT rate was 18% and 40% on income.
3. Whilst you may wish to take a short term gain on Metanor, do you not think the odds on a gain at 15 September would be more attractive?
4. Most investors do not have the risk tolerance to be continuously incurring regular buy & sell brokerage and price spread costs. Instead, if sound research has been undertaken, then it is a case of when, not if, a gain will be made.
At the end of the day, it is an individual choice and you have to be a judge on what is best for you, based on past experience.
Does this mean you will no longer be contributing to this board - if so, there goes my official french translator.
