The panels are about 10.1% efficient from my calculations. You can extrapolate the various margins to get an idea of its cost/watt. Being vertically integrated should be considered advantageous to increasing the margins due to the reduced cost of the solar silicon.
If Natcore China and the LPD AR can allow for 2/3 less silicon to be used per panel then we can compute the savings from that. [from the article silicon price per watt (
.84 -
.36)]. Natcore's AR process can save panel producers
.24 to
.56 on each watt.
Where would that put Trina Solar or Yingli in terms of cost/watt?
