The tandem technology has been accomplished in a lab - proven and published - the methods used to make the tandem cells that were developed do not lend themselves to mass manufacturing.

LPD promises to achieve the same outcome in a method that can be implemented into mass manufacturing. The purpose of the NR was to show that QD can be placed into a thin film via LPD. Barron has figured out how to place QD into a thin film layer in his lab. He needs to repeat the process of stacking - repeat the initial process.

They are depositing a chemical. Think of it like painting - they need a 2nd... 3rd... or nth coat.

It is more a matter of when and not if it can be done.
