RE: RE: iceberg order at .61!
Let's say a seller has 100,000 shares he wants to sell. If he shows 100,000 shares for sale all at once, a thinly traded stock might plummet in price because of the uncertainty generated by such a large sell order.
The seller's stockbroker/trader will only show about 5,000 shares for sale. This is the tip of the "iceberg". The trader keeps filling buy orders until the 100,000 is all sold.
