RE: RE: RE: RE: Chart still looks good

RE: RE: RE: RE: Chart still looks goodWhy don't YOU use your own link??  If you did, you'd find out it takes you to a general news page with nothing on it about people rejecting US$ for gold.
It's very simple.

Have you ever met anyone who's walking around with loose gold coins in their pocket?  Just because I can't prove they aren't, doesn't mean your fantasy claim is true.

Here's another reason why commerce using gold doesn't work.  If you decide you want to sell your 1 oz wafer of gold into $, you have to pay to get it tested to make sure it's not fake.  If you've never heard of this, any transactions you've had in the past had this cost built in.  People have been trying to pass off gold plated lead for centuries.

Gold coins don't work either.  Typically, the face value is significantly lower than the gold content.  Common is 10-20%.  So even though your gold coin has 1 oz of gold content, when the coin clearly says $200 on it, you're not gonna get anything more than that.

Thinking of using a Krugerrand or Maple Leaf?  They'll cost you $30+ each more than their gold is worth.  Then there's that nasty certification fee when you want to sell them.  Nobody wants to deal with such hassles.  If I was a merchant, I would turn away any customer with such gold.

Do I think you are lying?  No, just gullible.
