Why the sudden increase in volumeLet's look at a few fundamentals first. We know that Alexis has been trading in a narrow range from around .17 to .14 since July 16. And there were a few days during this 2 months time that two to three million shares were traded. But note that the share price did not change much, if at all.
We know that Alexis has a higher N.A.V. than it's current market capitalization. And yes , there have been operational problems and higher production costs. Management has yet to show that they can overcome these problems
However , the fact remains that yesterday there was a spectacular increase in buying. Why now ? Why didn't these buyers accumulate more slowly over the past two months.
As we have seen in other situations..........................such an increase in buying pressure may be a clear signal of an imminent take over bid. The prospective new owners see a bargain and want to move now before AMC goes much higher.
We shall see what happens next week.
