I am not ashamed to admit I don't understand this quote. Probably a simple answer but I don't have a simple mind.

Does it mean they drilled out some much material that all is left is a giant hole.

Is there so many holes in the property that it isn't safe to walk or drive on it.

If they pump water down one hole it will come up out the other holes like a shower head.

Will they lease this giant hole to AAA to use as a dump if they do an open pit mine.
