Sailors Thoughts... on Atlantic Gold & Permitting
SilentRunning is right, Atlantic Gold ispermitted to construct an open pit mine (the mine they were"reactivating" ceased producing in 1930s... so I suppose the could betrying to get out the steam shovels but I doubt it). They havecompleted their environmental assessments and are "good to go."
Last Iheard they were advertising for a Project Manager to start the project.Advertised salary was $200k+shares.
MORE INTERESTING was their CEO'scomments at their AGM "Late in 2009 we enlisted the support of
Haywood Securities’ Toronto based office to assist us in examining the possibility of a potential merger, collaboration or other arrangement that would allow our company and its assets direct access to the Canadian equity markets. The undertaking has progressed to the point of identifying several opportunities to achieve this goal. Negotiations have begun and offers discussed. We have agreed with Haywoods and the other parties involved, that it would be best to complete the Touquoy Feasibility Study before concluding negotiations."
Resources Appalaches (V.APP) was (may still be?) permitted to run a mine, in the Dufferin area aswell. I believe they are now doing more DD drilling on their property, and inked a deal with StrikePoint and they get 50% for spending 5.1mm in exploration and 700k investment in APP.
Orex has already had one environmentalassessment completed on its properties (Check the Wikipedia article forthe link to read it) and therefore the risk that there is some kind of unidentified endangered species on the property is low, and so the risk that someone is going to find a reason to hold the project up is low.
