RE: tell me something
RE: tell me something
left something out....their earnings per share has been around the 3 dollar mark for the past 3 quarters since the restructuring. Not to say that means dividends. It is a sign of good things though

Well there are lots of reasons why MB got hit harder than everyone else.
1.They had been in legal disputes with Lego during the crash
2. They had also seen a major recall, the biggest being an issue with their magnets falling out and children being able to swallow them
This was 2 big hits during the biggest economic crisis of my generation. scared investors, cost lots in legal fees and hurt the bottom line.
MB at its peak was doing roughly 550 million in revenues, it is now hitting around 350 million in revenues. Hence where you see the stock. Lastly they also went into bankruptcy protection sometime in January.
Recently 3 investing firms and the original owners themselves together put 250 million into the company to restructure. it was roughly the week after this deal closed that I started to buy in.
They have been gaining floor space at Toys R us and slated to get more, I am watching the store locally. Grab the latest sears wish book and they are all over. They also recently got a deal with grocery stores and a yogurt company partnership.
If that wasn't enough, Mega Brands will always make great toys for preschool kids. Toys parents like because it allows their children to be creative, and they can't swallow Mega Blocks. They are also easier for clean up.
They estimate to be back to 500 million in 5 years....
I am very bullish on this stock and have been buying in the waves since. .57. missed the .44 drop but I got in at a low of .47.
Long term this one has huge potential in my opinion, and they are fighters!

Why has this company gone from 30 dollars to .50 in 4 yrs.I mean i know 2008 was a bad yr for everyone but most bounced back .Not mb.it went down futher.I took a look at the fiancials and basically i see a company struggling in the toy market with poor sales .the last big jump was the microsoft spinnoff of halo toys.Where are theygoing here.I like the volume everyday and want to invest but im just not convinced this is a good play.Anyone see something i dont .thanks
