VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Oct 4, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Galore Resources Inc. (GRI) announces that it has commenced the first phase of a 5,000-metre diamond-drilling program on its wholly owned Dos Santos Property in Zacatecas State, Mexico.
The first drill hole began testing the large La Palma Induced Polarization (IP) chargeability and magnetic anomaly. This anomaly is interpreted to be caused by a large sulphide-bearing body at depths of 100 to 400 metres, with a geological setting similar to Goldcorp's nearby Camino Rojo sedimentary-rock hosted, gold-silver-lead-zinc deposit.
Diamond drilling is one phase of Galore's exploration program for Dos Santos, which will include additional geophysical surveys to advance several promising targets to drill stage. In addition, surface mapping and systematic rock sampling are underway on the newly acquired El Alamo claim. This claim lies next to the San Jose epithermal gold target at the north end of the Dos Santos Property. Trace elements, associated with gold mineralization and alteration at San Jose, show a west to east trend, suggesting the San Jose mineralization system extends to the west on the El Alamo claim. Galore's Mexico-based diamond-drilling program will be financed through a recent $2,050,000 private placement.
The Dos Santos exploration program is managed by Ing. Octavio Gonzalez, Galore's Vice- President Exploration for Mexico. Uwe Schmidt, P.Geo. Vice-President Exploration and Galore's Qualified Person as defined by Canada's National Instrument 43-101, is responsible for supervising the Dos Santos program.
Galore Resources is a British Columbia-based exploration company that has assembled a leading group of industry professionals to acquire and explore for promising deposits with an emphasis on gold in Mexico and base metals in British Columbia.
