yeah i agree with that.  The message boards are also good for getting comparisons and cross talks between different companies in a similar industry and all what not.  Most of the dialogue should be ignored, but they are worth monitoring as there are often good links as you mentioned and sometimes people with experience in a certain company can give good background.  But in the end it can make due diligence a little bit faster as long as the information you obtain is objective verifiable.   I just try to warn people against putting too much emphasis on individual opinions of future prospects, as I'm sure you are aware.  pros and cons like everything in life
