It is not such a bad idea, unless of course your stock moves up like a rocket.  That happens with the juniors all the time.  If you are trading for a penny or a nickle per share, and are out when say it moves a quarter, you would feel pretty foolish.  I speak from experience in this regard.  I flipped out a small cap with a quick 25% gain and felt really smart, that is, until it rocketed to 2.5X my orginal investment.  So I tripled down from that point, realizing the error of my ways, and made buckets of money as it went up more than 10X from there.  This stock is not currently in my portfolio.  However, the lesson is fresh in my mind, even though it happened years ago.

The only stocks I trade are the large caps, at least with those its less likely to run away from you.
