RE: Theory...on Recent TradingSounds like you pride yourself on being "hated."
As far as the "investment digest effect" - I don't think anyone would disagree that publicity can entice new shareholders to buy or drum up interest; however, I wouldn't look at recent price activity as black and white. Firstly, it could also be management promoting the story to investors behind the scenes. Secondly, although we don't know for sure, it could be related to upcoming news - not a stretch since drilling began in late August on the follow-up holes for the new discovery veins. Thirdly, interest in gold juniors has begun to increase of late, and this is supported somewhat by the increase in the Venture as a whole. Fourth, the gold price continues to climb, which although the correlation is not always high with junior exploration price and underlying commodity price, eventually the tide raises all boats. Fifth, Moneta, in my opinion is artificially low due to excessive selling from a couple of parties, and this corrects itself naturally over time. Sixth, Mr. Peres ringing the bell is something can cause retail shareholders to take a peek at the company. Seventh, a new presentation can also elicit a few buyers if they like what they see. Eighth, some neighbours have been having drilling success and that can cause investors to look for companies exploring in the area, which can create some new buyers. Ninth, fall tends to be a stronger period of investor interest for juniors, at least until tax loss selling season - and that creates buying pressure.
So, yes, an article in a relatively popular publication can create an initial spike of volume and interest, but there are many other factors that shouldn't be discounted. And, frankly, the big blocks being cleared out began BEFORE the investor digest article was released. And, it wasn't a splashy, pump-filled piece anyway - a few paragraphs of factual content - not the type of hype fest you would see from newsletters and websites that create many buyers because of a huge following. And, no I don't think that the investor digest comments last fall played a big role in Moneta's price increase - look at the stream of news and the sector as a whole - was very bullish.
So you may have a few good points, but as usual, you are missing a whole lot of the overall picture.
