this is a bit weird
this is a bit weirdI was checking out ARN's latest wells - licenses and spudding - and noticed that they've licensed two that seem a bit odd:
13-30-68-8 licensed as a vertical well; it's been spud as such without an amendment that I saw to convert the license to a HZ (I assume they'd have to amend the license before spudding...)
16-4-68-8 surf 1-9-68-8 licensed as directional depth 2490m - this is weird because it doesn't look like it'll be a HZMSF either. True, it does have a different surface location vs. the ultimate bottom hole, but this is only one LSD over, and the depth indicates it won't have a HZ leg.
Anyone have any ideas? Things like this make me nervous because they seem to be a deviation from anything they've discussed...however it could be something to do with water sourcing/injection/ etc. where they need the well bore for another purpose. Let's hope so. Any new drills should be HZs with 3500m total depths, or 4000m if they want to do more frac stages.
