RE: AdvertisingYeah, Ive been following that too Marko. Of course there's certainly nothing scientific about it, but theyve gone from 4,500 facebook followers in march to 12,000 in september to 35,000+ now. There's little mystery in what's happening, they're offering free glasses promos to people who "like" Clearly Contacts on facebook. I think for a cost-effective word of mouth campaign it's bang-on. We'll see how it goes. The American Coastal facebook site and the european Lensway site are not experiencing the same growth.
It seems to me that Coastal has decided to neglect profit for the sake of building their database of "customers" who they hope will come back to them for their next purchase and tell their friends. On the whole, I think it's a great marketing strategy. I would like them to turn on the profit fawcet pretty soon, though, by actually charging for their services at a rate they warrant. Getting a little tired of seeing this company succeed an every front EXCEPT for profit growth.
