RE: RE: Thanks Bill, Barney & Sub Prime

RE: RE: Thanks Bill, Barney & Sub PrimeI agree Bush was not productive in his second term, but Curt is correct Congress was Democratic controlled. The US laws are created by Congress and the President only approves or vetos. This economic landslide started in the early Clinton years, and took a long time to unfold. As the snow ball got bigger and bigger ..Wall Street jumped in in a typical greedy manner.

We may never know of the terroristic threats that were derailed by Bushes' folks and the amount of energy associated or expended. One ting is we don't operate or sleep in fear. The man had balls when they were needed.

There is and always has been economic cycles, and this one just happens to be more extreme because of the underlying poison laid.

The US economy will rebound only when the banks start lending more freely to small, medium and large businesses. These are the bulk of the US employers.

Right now the banks are borrowing from the US Treasury at almost zero, and then buying US Treasury notes paying approx 3% .. no risk. Banks are also cleaning house on problematic loans, and yes they are trying to figure out where they will make those millions $$$$$ that are lost or in jeopardy on overdrafts, late fees, etc on their issued credit/debit cards.
