RE: NEWS- GREECE"."Building integrated systems, sometimes called BIPV, are the
future of the solar power industry, but development has lagged
due to the crippling effect of shading and variances in
orientation on total system performance that occurs with
the conventional "series" system architecture" required by
high voltage inverters.""Sustainable Energy's "parallel" system architecture now
gives architects complete freedom to fit the solar panels
to the building design, without disproportionately impacting
total system performance. Significantly, it is the only
solution available in the industry to do so which also
enables a practical maintenance schedule."The facade system was developed, designed and installed
by Sustainable Energy's partner A.C.E. Power Electronics""
I would think this is a very big step towards Sustainable's future and solar's future in general in North America. Many have a problem, as I do, with the aesthetics of solar panels...racking.... on a home's roof and the upkeep with the panels cleaning and roof repairs. I believe the future lies with BIPV in the very near approaching time period. Many companies already have roofing shingles integrated solar (Dow e.g.) along with other companies with solar glass technology, siding solar etc. That to me is the future of solar. Meanwhile, ground mount seems to be the other present big interest and S.E.T. is getting well established in that field. Not to say that roofing solar panels will not be a big seller. It will be but not to the extent of BIPV especially in the new housing market. IMHO
S.E.T. is definitely creating a world wide footprint and this Athen's Mall project is a great marketing tool. Slow but surely, the company will go ahead and may surprise us with a sudden escalation in the SP as interest grows. Sales and earnings. Sales and earnings. Get those units produced. Produce them and they will come. Keeping us with demand is the priority now, not selling them. They will be selling themselves, of course with a little help from the sales team at S.E.T. They appear to be working very hard.
