RE: Will Marathon Gold and MOA merge??Mr B....Your post asked : " Any theories from the board? Hard to get a handle on where Marathon Gold will start trading with 18 million shares in the float. Especially if the new resource #'s are out, although perhaps that will clarify the situation. What value per ounce of gold in the ground should be assigned to the resource when the report comes out? $50/$100/$200?? The gpt grades are pretty good as is the recovery % of gold tested to date."

I'll give it a go...
No merger with anyone in any predictable time frame(min.18 mo. view).
MOA is now in an exceptionally strong position with 4 high value properties in Newfoundland. Likelihood is they are now on the way to follow the trail to success that several others have in Nfld who managed their way to become Multi-hundred-million $ entities; some eventually be consumed by majors.
MAR will likely have 22MM shares out within a month of new listing(before year end 2010) due to needing to cash up for an aggressive winter drill program at VL....there will be lots of interest from big names wanting to get in early on their first PP. So I my guess, even with a PP in the offing, that they will start out btw. $1.00 andt $1.20/share, move toward $1.50 in first few weeks and do a 4 MM share PP near this level giving them about $12MM total in the bank.(They will have $6MM cash already on day 1 as past of their takeover deal)
And your third question: in an open pit deposit like LP with so many high grade areas, the in the ground post 430101(Dec 2010) value should easily hit the $200/OZ level or more(with gold prices remaining above $1,200).
I expect that Cap. cost of a fully functioning mining site will be around $100/OZ-Leaving $900/OZ to cover all operating costs with profit/OZ running exceptionally high($350-450?; equalling about $20MM/yr profit(and more?) for each of the 50% holders)
