WIN's 2 businesses

WIN's 2 businessesAm I correct when I conclude that WIN really operates in 2 business. One is the fixed wireless business. This is what Telia 2 and the Peel Region Board of Education has purchased from WIN. This is happening now and there is huge growth potential right now as the technology decreases in price and becomes even faster. The other is point to multipoint. This is where Phillips, Nokia, Sony, etc. enter the picture. This has explosive growth potential but it is still in its infancy. It may take 9-12 months or longer before we see real products start to gain market acceptance. I say this because today RIM just launched their newest pager. It runs on a 386 chip with a low transmission rate (nothing compared to the 30 Mbps that WIN is talking about). This is the leading technology today. What needs to happen before companies like RIM and PALM start to use WIN's OFDM technology in their products? How long do you think this will take?
