RE: RE: RE: bad day for telusYa the crappy quarter no doubt was the reality check and Rogers is for the most part the darling of wireless providers too. OH, oh. No doubt things will bounce back a bit tomorrow but IMO the writing on the wall should be clear enough for anyone to read now.
Like I said it's reality. Clearly the incumbents were, and are, going to continue to lose market share. Dwindling profits will be an ongoing issue. Especially next year when Shaw enters the space and really sticks it to everyone.
How ironic too that not that long ago after spending millions, incurring customer ire, and laying off a few hundred employees by shutting down all the PhoneMart stores in BC, the "high performing" idiots are now attempting to reinvent that wheel.
MInd you this time the wheel will have a much better fashion sense.
I agree with you Griz it doesn't seem to make much sense but then this is telus we're talking about.
Sure Vancouver is the gay capital of Canada [western at least if not the entire country] but how many people will telus exclude from visiting that store because they may think they'll feel uncomfortable there?
Also when you think about it it's a bit insulting to gays. I mean do they really want special stores or do gays just want the same thing as everyone else? Screw the fancy stores and put the money into giving me better deals and service.
I gotta say that the attitude I and many others get as telus employees, that telus management thinks we're stupid, is now being displayed in public.
I say the store undergoes a radical remake or closes it's doors entirely within two years.
