RE: What's ISM up to?Tickle1st,
I was interested in your comment "RS did the same thing to Carlisle Goldfields about a year ago. Pulled it off and got Bruce Ried appointed CEO".
I did some brief checking into the Carlisle episode you refer to, as I was interested in the process. My reading of the outcome isn't the same as yours. I understood that Richard Sutcliffe was one of the dissident shareholders (as Inspiration Mining is in the recent story), and that Bruce Reid sided with him at the outset - but changed his mind and was elected as a member of the "Carlisle" slate, put forth by the company. Bruce Reid was subsequently named as CEO. My read is that the move by the dissidents was unsuccessful as far as electing their slate (including Richard Sutcliffe) to the Board. It may have been considered successful by some, in that all but one of the previous Directors was replaced. However the previous CEO/Chairman continued as a Director and I believe is still Chairman.
I am not otherwise familiar with the Carlisle episode, or how it might compare to Inspiration's announced move on UMJ. I find it amusing that Inspiration has the audacity to suggest mismanagement by any other company, given their track record. As for a slate of new Directors, it will be interesting on ISM's input into the process. ISM has had a bit of a revolving door as far as their own Board, and in my opinion none of their group is a "heavy weight" - either from past experience, general mining knowledge, or in their impact on Inspiration Mining.
Nothing surprises me any more, when it comes to Inspiration's modus operandi. I will be following this latest effort with interest - I hope that no innocents become casualties.
