Cotton Prices Rising
Cotton Prices RisingIn today's Globe, "Cotton prices hit another high amid growing concerns about meeting demand with tight supply."
A disastrous cotton crop, due in part to floods in Pakistan and droughts in China, leads retail analyst Marshal Cohen at the NPD Group to predict that prices for goods made of cotton will rise as much as 10% by early 2011.
Therefore the demand for VISCOSE (dissolving pulp) is projected to be very high for 2011 and beyond.
Nice timing for the Thurso Mill dissolving pulp start-up.
Now you see why China quickly snapped up most of the available production capacity at the Thurso Mill.
The spot price for dissolving pulp as a result will also rise in 2011!
Have a good day fellow FTP investors.
