RE: Mina Pasqua - Pasqua Lama
spec72: it's not listed as a mine because it's in the development stage: it is not yet a producing mine. From MWR's standpoint, the most important thing in the entire article IMO is this:
In a Chilean court case over title ownership between Barrick Gold and a mining trustee named Rodolfo Villar, employee of the alleged owner Jorge Lopehandia, there was a verdict passed down declaring that Lopehandia was the rightful owner of the mining claims that comprise the Pascua Lama project. Barrick Gold proceeded to sue the Judge claiming that the Judge was biased, and therefor the Judgement should be overturned. This case was elevated to the Chilean supreme court level where it was declared that the Judge's decision was the correct one.[100]
As part of your DD, try to find any Chilean court information or documentation that mentions Rodolfo Villar. There is info out there (in Spanish), so be prepared to try doing some translation.
If Jorge Lopehandia is indeed the rightful owner of the Pascua Lama claims (and from their news release we know that MWR is trying to put together a deal with him); doesn't that suggest a possible reason for these spikes in the SP?
