RE: Montana western land highly valued by EOG,Excellen post Rustycat. It prompted me to research the counties of Montana to see where Roosevelt is in relation to REL's new Blaine acquisition.
Unfortunately, if USGS is right about petroleum provinces, or at least the Bakken formation, then Roosevelt is right in the Basin, while Blaine appears to be outside, being a few hundred mil;es (?) to the west.
But there are 3 known shale plays, of differing geographical extent, and I rather think that our guys have put up the money for a test well on the lands in question as a condition of purchase and sale. So perhaps we have had a good sniff and the boys are seeking additional lands in the area on the quiet.
As a friend of mine pointed out, it is just possible that we are ahead of the Americans in this particular oil province straddling the border (Blaine) owing to extensive work on the Sask side. After all, the USGS does not go out and drill themselves. It is the industry that supplies msot of the field data.
Bottom Line: I have more enthusiasm than ever about our medium term prospects. One day I hope to say:"Yeah, I have been in Reliable since it was way under a buck. Some of the Bullboard posters recognised the Montana potential before the first results were made public"
