First Uranium Temporarily Closes Ezulwini Uranium Plant for Column Replacement

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

TORONTO and JOHANNESBURG, Aug. 31 /CNW/ - First Uranium Corporation (TSX:FIU, JSE:FUM) (ISIN:CA33744R1029) ("First Uranium" or "the Company") today announced that it has temporarily closed its Ezulwini Uranium plant to replace two columns in the Ion Exchange section, following a structural failure on a loading column. The plant will be closed while two columns are designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned. The work is expected to be complete by year end. The anticipated overall impact on the Company's cash flow, loss in uranium sales and rescheduled capital is US$1.2 million. The operation of the gold plant is not affected.

Since this news was on Aug31/10 it is safe to assume that by the end of this year the work will be complete.

Now lets look at the news today Nov15/10.........

During August 2010, the Ezulwini Mine closed its uranium plant to replace two columns in the Ion Exchange section, following a structural failure on a loading column. The two columns are being manufactured, with installation and commissioning expected to be completed in Q4 2011. The cost of the two failed columns that have to be replaced has been written off and expensed in Q2 2011.

That is at least a year away.
