CANSIA-BOSCH-CONERGYI would suspect that anything originally slated for the European market that will create a surplus there of the product will be refitted to our voltage and brought to the North American market. The European problems really shouldn't affect the company with the upcoming shortage and demand for inverters here. Only a relocation of the product and expense of shipping and voltage adjustment.
The company is holding another workshop according to this link. It is well worth the $75 to get a grasp on the company from a personal level of meeting some of the principals. I attended the one last year at the Harbour Castle Westin run by Brent Harris and Aaron Strand. Very informative and they have progressed much further in the past year in Ontario in their direction. Mostly solar business people last year with a handful of investors like ourselves and it was packed. Every chair was filled. Not sure if I'll make the one this year due to previous commitments but I will give it a really good try.

Also interesting is the fact that BOSCH and CONERGY (both previously announced as solar joint ventures with SET) are also holding workshops. I would say it is now obvious that BOSCH intends to set up a presence after all in Ontario. They have been very quiet on it so far but to hold a workshop shows they plan to be a big part of Ontario Solar. BOSCH has been very secretive and has made no announcement about solar in Ontario since March's release involving SET and even then, they did not make the announcement nor did they post it as news on their website. It was all about BUCHER. CONERGY would not comment when I inquired as to why they didn't list the Sunergy as a product on their website after the big announcement in regards to Sustainable in May of this year.
BOSCH closed mouthed. CONERGY closed mouth. Makes one wonder if Bucher in his March release of the BOSCH - SET deal led to his demise as it was strange that BOSCH made no release.
According to the Toronto Star
""Officials from Bosch could not be reached for comment."
Did he speak out of school for some ulterior motive? The stock certainly reacted to the 'big news' and then fell. Was he then dumped? Why hasn't CONERGY stepped up to listing SET yet as a product after their raving about what a great product it was and how they were going to have a tremendous relationship? Conergy just acquired a very big deal with SKY POWER.
From the recent news release by S.E.T.:
"" Canada's solar inverter company, announced today that one of Ontario's largest electrical distributors has selected the SUNERGYTM inverter as its core inverter product for both micro-FIT and FIT projects in the Province under 100kW and will begin stocking the product before year end. (Will CONERGY finally list SUNERGY on their website as a product. Have they been waiting for the 240 Volt?) An initiating order for 125kW has been received by the Company with a base demand forecast of 2MW for calendar 2011.
"This is an important partnership for us," said Michael Carten Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy. "Ranked as one of the largest electrical distributors in the Province, our partner brings access to more than 1,000 electrical contractors along with significant retail exposure and a rapidly expanding renewable energy installer base."
"Significantly, the relationship also signals a larger scale ramp of the Ontario solar industry as new mainstream channels add solar products to their catalogues, and favouring SUNERGY inverters for the easy to use and high yielding "parallel" architecture" Carten added.
The electrical distribution company will launch a full solar product offering before year end in partnership with Sustainable Energy, as well as an Ontario module manufacturer and a racking solutions firm. Further details will be provided at the time of product launch. ""
CONERGY is certainly a very large electrical distributor in the Province and has two more large offices in Calgary and Alberta. Perfect for Sustainable who is making their presence in Solar market there as well. Conergy also makes their own racking system.
Could it be that the BOSCH module deal is still very much alive along with CONERGY? I cannot find a single news reference to BOSCH Solar in Ontario other than the Sustainable release in March but still BOSCH is holding a December Cansia workshop for installers? Are they going to finally announce a module assembly plant in Ontario or are they only going to sell solar water heaters? All three companies at CANSIA in December. Is that going to be the timing of the announcement? Perfect timing for the press to take hold of it.
I wouldn't want to take the tax loss at this crucial time just before the December announcement that we know is coming. Not the right time. There are vultures waiting for your shares and I am waiting for the usual bashers to suddenly re-appear within the next week or so. Hey, I have been wrong before and will be wrong many more times. But is it worth the risk at this stage knowing there is a December announcement? I suspect it will be during CANSIA and if the SP does not re-act, then there is still time to still take advantage of the tax loss write off before the deadline.
Ah, speculation.............. the tool of investors..........and fools.
All of the above only my opinion.
