It's quite simple - Genco management was a clown show and the new management brought in through the merge has the talent and experience to realize the value of the in situ value (which is a very narrow way to look at a company).

As I mentioned in a previous post, I looked very closely a Genco a while back and stayed clear because of the management and only for that reason. There's a reason it never recovered after the big fiasco that sunk the sp from mid-$3s. Everyone saw the gong show that was Genco's management and until it was replaced most would stay clear.
